Herzliya drainage tunnel

Every winter, the Basa Area in Herzliya, located along the east side of the eolianite coastal limestone along Highway no. 2, would be flooded by the rain. The Municipality of Herzilya ordered a plan for a tunnel that would gather the rain water in the Basa Area, and transfer it, under the coastal limestone, to a canyon located north of the Herzliya Pituah Industrial Area.

The 3.5 meter diameter tunnel will be 900 meters in length, from its starting point to a transfer device. At that point, the water will enter a rectangular transporter that will be constructed separately.

Three additional shafts, which were built along the tunnel, will collect water from municipal drainage systems.
