Q Line restoration

Two parallel asbestos-cement pipelines, with an inner diameter of 1250 millimeters and 3.5 kilometers long each, were reconstructed. The reconstruction method was to spray ferrocement on reinforcement iron and woven steel within the pipeline.

A temporary upper steel bypass, parallel to the segments under reconstruction, was built, to allow working inside the pipeline.

At the meeting point of the Q Line and the future light rail route, a protective bridge was constructed over the pipeline, which will allow the train to ride safely. Two bypasses were constructed at that point, and the asbestos-cement pipes were replaced by steel pipes that were laid inside the concrete bridge.
